He is a guide to rolling a basic single paper joint. Once you get this down, go forth and conquer the weed rolling advanced techniques… aka Marijuana Origami!
Step 1: Your Toking Tools
Weed
Papers
Card for roach
Grinder or Scissors
Poky
Lighter
Step 2: Prepare the Weed
Grind your weed, cut it with scissors or break it apart – this helps make it more pliable when rolling – Make sure you remove twigs and seeds. Twigs can rip the paper and are crap to smoke and the seeds pop when they get burned.
Step 3: Make the Roach – Optional
I like to make smallish roaches about 2-3cm in width and about 1cm in length for a small, single paper joint. Roll the card up so that it has a little spring to it. The shape and size of a roach generally comes down to your own smoking preferance. You will find what works for you.
Step 4: Add the Weed
Either flatten out the paper on a hard surface or you can place it in the papers packet as a holder, add the weed to the paper, try and sprinkle it evenly along the length of the paper.
Step 5: The Roll
Pick up the paper with both hands, generally in-between your thumbs and index fingers and slowly roll the paper back and forth so the weed starts to even out and look like the shape of the joint you are trying to roll. I will sometimes roll, then hold the joint with one hand or out it own and move the weed with my finger if it is lumpy in some areas. Basically try and get the weed to even out into the shape of the joint before tucking the paper.
Step 6: Add the Roach – Optional
I prefer smoking with a roach as it wastes less weed, I don’t burn my fingers trying to smoke the j down to nothing, I don’t get weed in my mouth and its easier to roll.
Move the weed at the end of the joint up just a little and add the roach. push the weed back so its nice and flush – you don’t want a gap between the weed and joint coz you’ll have a floppy joint and no-one wants a floppy joint.
You can also add the roach after you have rolled the joint, but I personally find this kind of fiddly, especially if I’m already high : )
Step 7: The Tuck
The hardest part of the joint rolling process.
